anneau apicale (noun, ascus term, pl. anneaux apicales; French, literally meaning: apical ring; deprecated term) – ring-like lamellae around the nasse axiale described from chitinoid or amyloid reactions observed in the light microscope; typically found in the archaeascus; possibly artefacts caused by degeneration of tholus structures in herbarium material; not identical with the annulus of annular asci. This is: part of ascus.
